Former faculty and staff members of AEAB, Martin and Carole Redfern, respectively, established The Martin and Carole Redfern Scholarship in Agribusiness.
- Dan Rainey Elected Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation Vice Chair
Daniel Rainey, BSA ’90, was elected vice chair of the board of directors for the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation in December 2008. He is serving his second three-year term on the board.

Matthew Mason, BSA '91 MS '93, started his career as an economist with the Division of Agriculture's Cooperative Extension Service.

Jennie Popp is one of seven faculty members awarded the Office of Post-Graduate Fellowships Departmental Gold Medal Award for outstanding support for students competing for nationally competitive awards.

The Greg Weidemann DBCAFLS Alumni Society Scholarship recipient is Amanda Simpson, the daughter of James and Linda Simpson of Cave Springs. She is a junior Agricultural Business major with a minor in Global Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.

District directors with the Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service will be on the Fayetteville campus to interview graduating seniors and grad students for positions with the Extension Service April 15 in the AEED conference room.
- Mampionona Amboarasoa Accepted into Intensive Program in Biorenewables at Iowa State University
The two-week intensive program, held June 3-15, 2009, will provide advanced training in the expanding fields of biobased product engineering, processing and product development.
- Farm Foundation Competition Targets New Policy Approaches
The Farm Foundation intends to award cash prizes totaling $20,000 in a competition for innovative and promising public policy options to address challenges facing agriculture and the food system.

Congratulations to Mr. Cezar Coto, MS candidate in AGEC, who is a member of the WCOB Business Plan Competition team which placed first in the regional competition which was held on the UAF campus last week.

The University of Arkansas System's Division of Agriculture recognized outstanding performance by faculty and staff members at an awards luncheon Friday at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center.
- National Collegiate Agricultural Ambassador Team applications due June 1
Applications for the 2009-10 National team are now available. Selected ambassadors will have the chance to promote agriculture awareness around their community and state.
