Background

Terry Griffin specializes in production economics and row-crop farm management.  A native Arkansan raised on a diversified row crop farm near Paragould in Greene County, Terry’s interests in row crop production agriculture lead him to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy and Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Arkansas. His Master’s thesis integrated his agronomic and economic backgrounds by evaluating case studies of Arkansas’s early adopters of precision farming and analyzing the profitability of variable rate phosphorus applications on rice and soybean rotations. Terry has served as a farm management specialist for University of Illinois Extension and assisted in the coordination of the Top Farmer Crop Workshop at Purdue University. At Purdue, Terry earned a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics specializing in production economics and applied spatial econometrics, specifically field-scale on-farm experiments using precision agriculture technologies, and the subsequent farm management decision making process.  He has acted as a reviewer for a number of interdisciplinary academic journals, especially on topics relating to precision agriculture. Terry and his wife, Dana, are proud parents of Ty, Austin, and Briley.
