MARORA

The MARORA (Modified Arkansas Off-stream Analysis) model was developed in order to help farmers, consultants, and others interested in the water problems of eastern Arkansas to understand the economic impacts of their water investment strategies and management policies. MARORA was written using the Visual C++ programming language, and simulates reservoir and soil water balances, soybean and rice growth and yields, ground water hydraulics, and numerous other processes. Output includes extensive economic accounting of rice and soybean production. MARORA provides the mechanism to examine the economics of various water source and management strategies. The program is flexible in that it is designed to examine individual farm situations. Copies of the program can be obtained by sending a request to jsmartt@uark.edu.
